Hi nelly, please help me with my English: Can you confirm that you'd call this an avenue? (even if it is not in an urban context, just rows of trees on both sides of a path).

I wrote the above, then I noticed your tags, so I guess that is the confirmation I am seeking... (sorry for rambling)

Yes, an avenue of trees. It could almost be a cathedral of trees : )

Yep, that is no coincidence. The arches of gothic churches and cathedrals were inspired by trees...

that's true. a 'maximalism' in design does seem to originate with the organic .... thinking of Gaudi's Familia Sagrada in particular

Gaudi's work is so unique, that it is hard to categorize him within an "ism" (wikipedia informs that he was the best known exponent of Catalan modernism). I wouldn't call Segrada Familia gothic. Some relate Gaudi's work to Art Nouveau and Jugend, but in my mind, it doesn't really fit in there either...
