083. Release.

After we release the turbulence and air-sickness will [mostly] go away.

Of course, that's when the fun really starts, as the plane is piloted [and powered] entirely by wits after that.

That plane up there is dragging us to release altitude ...

As you can see from the Altimeter, we are up around 1,000 meters.

insnt it great once you rlease.. the sound of the wind that sounrds the plane. playing with its shell and the strings is the only thing you hear...

you should try a wench start. where you get pulled up to 300m in a matter of 15 sec.

I was quite surprised when I found these pictures; my P&S was brand new at the time but these were almost all very good.

As you say, the rush of wind is deafening. I took some video and you can barely hear my pilot over the noise. He said I could probably set my camera to NOT get the cockpit reflections, but I kind of like them.

I think the reason the pictures were so good is because I was practically gibbering in terror. The cockpit glass seems oppressive but doesn't really give you the sense of floating semi-reclined in a large metal coffin. Needless to say, this was a Fam. flight and I did not take up sail-planing!
