Pool Deck (Week 4) - Filmic Version

From the second BlenderGuru Architecture Academy, PLEASE VIEW LARGE

[Click on the image to view the full-size version]

Comments and critique are very welcome.

4:25 hours to render @ 6,400 Samples, GPU

More rendering with Troy Sobotka's Filmic Blender. New balcony railing.

Before, there were quite defined limits based upon the original lighting.

With filmic blender much more range for correction in post is available.

[The 'bloom' on the pool was added in post; the reflections look iffy to me.]

I have to admt that in spite of your descriptions I am not really sure what I do look at here. The improved shot of a real life diorama like a doll house, or a number of drawings made into something to look realistic like a photograph?
I have to admit I am just a housewife somewhat familiar with the use of some old free line drawing software for planing home improvement projects but already impressed to speechlessness by the simple animated presentation of the kitchen planer at the furniture store, that is absolutely no match for this realism.

The trouble with something like this is it's a lot of work.

Not that it isn't fun or anything, but it's like editing a picture.

After a while you just don't see it objectively anymore.

So mostly I'm just looking for fresh eyes to provide feedback.

For instance, I just sent my sister the floor plans because she
could not figure out the underlying architecture. And she was
probably a good sounding-board as she said it looked like the
workstation (top right) looked like an aquarium.

It's a bit like an HDR I think, probably way too much here.

This is really just a different grading (photo curve) on my
previous attempts as I see what can be done (better, I hope)
with the new 'filmic blender' options. I changed the balcony
a bit but apparently not really for the better.

Anyhow, my apologies, I *did* tag it as computer graphics.
I usually post pictures but who better to ask if something
looks real or not than a bunch of photographers?

Not sure there's such a thing as 'just a housewife' and what
you have said has already been helpful. Architecture is not
really my thing and so there are far too many competing
elements here which makes it hard to look at - never really
a good thing from a composition standpoint.
