One for @hansung - I processed this but am not entirely happy with it, so feel free to critique my processing!

male - not technically a bee (Bees were introduced to North America by the Spanish in the 1700's), but an example of convergent evolution and an important pollinator nevertheless

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rufous_hummingbird):

-- small hummingbird, about 8 cm long (3 inches) with a long, straight and very slender bill.
-- These birds are known for their incredible flight skills. Some are known to fly 2,000 miles
-- during their migratory transits.

I can tell you that they are pretty aggressive in early Spring and will attack anything (including buzzing
any nosy photographers, that's a nasty little bill to see coming at your eyes). Their rolling dogfights with
the resident Anna's Hummingbirds are really impressive!

What on earth is not to like about the processing?? It looks great as it is. The wee bird is so cute down to its tiny toe, the translucent moving wing and the sharp reminder of the body make a great contast, the flower it drinks from is pretty and in a nice and nearly unblemished shape, ( just 2-3 blossoms wilted enough to see it is not fake) and as sharp as the bird, the backdrop is smooth as silk and a very becomming colour. That's perfect! :o)

Thanks for the lovely comments Sonja.

I was very proud of this picture (quite hard to get).

It looks very slightly over-sharpened (shows most in BG).

The details look good though (no haloes) and it's very real.
