I ran into this fellow some time ago, he was quite helpful about the lens he was using.
Everyone at that cyclo-cross event was using either a Canon or Nikon 70-200 f/2.8,
which was interesting to me - I would have expected either the Nikon 200-400 or at
least a long prime lens. But no, when the pace is fast and furious, a fast zoom is just
the thing for most sports. And the light was very poor so the 2.8 was essential.
