I didn't know there were african penguins.

African Penguins are apparently also called Jackass or Blackfooted Penguins.

You can clearly see the black feet here.

There are a few colonies along the south coast.
They are called jackass penguins because they sound just like donkeys when they call out to each other in the evening (it's unbelievable that such a small creature can make that sound).
