Picturesque village. Once again, water colour seems very wrong?

The Soca river really has that colour. On cloudy days, like this one, it is sort of a milky colour, with a faint greenish shine. Apparently it is due to the high load of dissolved calcite in the river (and presumably a very low load of regular sediments), which refracts some of the light. On clear sunny days, the colours are more spectacular and create an much brighter emerald green shine.

Thanks for the feedback, I have only seen that colour in a lake up by Whistler that was fed by a glacier (the colour mainly due to small chips of ice suspended in the water).

Emerald lake up that way is very cool also (literally!) as it is a deep emerald green (and for too cold to venture into).
