Woot! I love that "perspective".

I love this "interesting geometry". Fantastic location is just a base; movement, colors, perspective are making this shot stand out. Great idea and execution.

22 is allot!
may I ask, how long is the lens how big is the resulting pano?
cool diagonals for sure.
Mark Andrews January 15, 2010, 12:06 PM
22 is a lot.. must be a glutton for punishment =)

The only lens goes to a minimum of 35mm, which is probably why I have to take so many shots! Final image is sized down anyway as it's only for posting on the web and not printing.

I'm impressed !!!

you have plenty of overlapping then, or where you also bracketing your shots?
the water looks pretty nice, although it has potential for stitching errors.
are they apparent in the full res or do you have some tricks to avoid them?
anita plus January 15, 2010, 01:54 PM
Magic effect!
Mark Andrews January 15, 2010, 03:00 PM
Lots of overlapping and I usually shoot the sky at a higher shutter speed than the foreground. You're right about the water and the only way to avoid it is trying to get the main bits all in one frame. Great comments. Thanks!

thank you, for your information.
nomoveon January 15, 2010, 04:38 PM
oh and inspiration!
although I have stitched shots for a wider angle, I will try your more "freehand"ed approach.
crazyrayman January 15, 2010, 05:12 PM
Shooting the sky at a higher shutter speed is a good hint.
Kato, this is a very cool picture. I like the effect applied to the trees.
Nomoveon, thanks for interviewing Kato ;)

Looks like a pretty big payoff for all your work! Well deserved. Fantastic picture!
Mark Andrews January 15, 2010, 05:19 PM
Lol! Thanks Crazyrayman & Nomoveon. Of course the best thing is to get a wide-angled lens and a graduated ND filter, but I didn't have either of those back then!
crazyrayman January 15, 2010, 05:30 PM
You don't need those... :)
Dorota January 15, 2010, 07:38 PM
We have saying in Poland: good photographer can take great photos with a shoebox :D
