スズメウリ(雀瓜)
径1.5cm前後
お堀端(津山)に自生していたものを採取。
水辺や氾濫原野を好むらしい。
緑色の実は徐々に色が薄くなり、やがて真っ白に、
さらに透き通って中の黒い種の色が見えてくる。
果肉は水分が多く、メロンの香りがする。
食用可(筑波実験植物園オリジナル図鑑)。
