Luxembourg City may be small, but it has some of the most beautiful tourist attractions in the world. Commonly referred to as the city of a thousand contrasts, Luxembourg has many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The culture, architecture, and history have been neatly preserved in these historical sites.

Apart from walking around the beautiful city, you can sample some of the delicious cuisine by enjoying a meal at The Barrio Grund. Other Luxembourg City attractions that you should include in your itinerary are:

Grand Ducal Palace Luxembourg

A visit to this palace is one of the things to do in Luxembourg City. It is one of the few castles that is still in use as it is the Duke of Luxembourg’s official residence. Other castles in Luxembourg have been opened up to the public as tourist attraction sites.

National Museum of History and Art

While the National Museum of History and Art in Luxembourg is one of the smaller ones in the world, it is still an impressive site to visit. Luxembourg City attractions are generally smaller because Luxembourg is small. However, it contains some precious and dated artifacts from previous centuries. The building is relatively modern since the museum was moved to that location in 2002.

Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge

Built in 1965, going to the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge is one of the things to do in Luxembourg City as a tourist. This bridge is a sight to behold. It crosses over a valley of lush greenery, old buildings and a chapel underneath it and has fascinated drivers for many years.

Monument of Remembrance

Built in 1923, the monument stands on the constitution square. It is known as one of Luxembourg CityAttractions because of its historical connotation. It was built in honor of those who lost their lives in World War I. The monument was torn down by the Nazis in 1940, but it was later restored back to its former glory. It is one of the most famous touristattractions in Luxembourg City and is conveniently placed to offer tourists the beautiful view of the Petrusse Valley.

Bock

This magnificent structure is a sight to behold. The structure dates back to 963 AD, and it is still standing. Built as a fortified castle, the Bock is full of passageways and rich history. It was used as a safe shelter for 35,000 locals during the First and Second World War. Bock was not always part of the many tourist attractions. In fact, the reason it was never demolished was because it would have taken half the city with it.

There are so many tourist attractions to visit in Luxembourg. You literally cannot run out of things to do in Luxembourg City. The small size of the city also makes it easier to see most of the city in a short period of time. You are therefore able to maximize on your visit: see the famous sites, participate in some activities and enjoy an indigenous meal.
