i don't really get what the piece is about, but os gemeos' work is stunning...
interesting...
funny as i am reading walter moers the term horror vacui was in one of his books
a long ago when i lived in Mexico (my homeland) horror vacui made think of Aztec art... now it reminds me of insky's photos and lately walter moers, life references change but horror vacui is all over the place, specially in 23
are you kidding?
what has he got to do with 'horror vacui' ??

this summer, and beyond being a great read and a bibliophile's dream come true plot-wise, his illustrations are incredible and definitely fit the bill of "the filling of the entire surface of an artwork with ornamental details, figures, shapes, lines and anything else the artist might envision". check out the cover illustration alone for the book....have heard great things as well about his "13 1/2 lives of captain bluebear".
aber morgen... i can give you the page where "horror vacui" is quoted by Moers in "Die Stadt der Träumenden Bücher" auf Englisch of course ;) bis dann!!
and yes insky the cover and/or illustrations pretty much cover the concept anyways, he likes the fine hairy lines, very neat stuff, heard the title thru miss donna btw, so all comes from the east coast anyways :)
"And the text itself? I can divulge this much: it conveyed the thoughts of an author in a state of horror vacui, or fear of a blank page - an author paralyzed by writer's block and desperately wondering what sentence would best begin his story."
