Evokes real meloncholy, this one; like an air of expectancy, but nothing ever happening. Lost and sad, shut away. Very moving

thanks...exactly how it felt, too...

It's wonderful that you share your work, it's such a gift. I myself am an artist, but never really got into photography, just sometimes seeing something catch my eye and trying to capture the essence of what it was that attracted me! I stumbled across "urban exploration" as I know it to be called a little while ago and I was utterly blown away by the emotional responses I had from looking at these pictures. Something deep inside, almost reminiscent of dreams came to the fore and I couldn't get enough of looking at all the photos I could find. Just wish I had the guts (and the time!) to get out there myself and have an adventure but I can't justify the time at the moment also if I admit it there's a bit of fear mixed up in there somewhere! The other thing is that I would probably have to travel long and hard to find a place that stirred my soul, Britain is small and pretty much "discovered" if you know what I mean. One day tho.... in the meantime I shall enjoy finding more treasures in your collection, thanks again Insky, for your wellspring of inspiration x

i bet there's many places in britain worth discovering. start with what people naturally back away from and go from there. thanks so much for your words. i'm sure you will do it if the urge strikes. believe me, every weird place i've entered, i've been literally paralyzed by fear before entering, this place no exception. gave myself a thousand convincing reasons why i should turn around at the entrance (with security, it felt, all over the place)and take the bus back home. i convinced myself - thoroughly - and then simply went in. and of course so dumbstruck the next four hours hardly had the resolve to push the shutter release. voyeur as long as you want, and just remember its as easy as saying 'i'm going' and then being there and telling yourself i've come this far i'm going in. there is a space, an atmosphere and an unresolved humanity just hanging - quivering - in these spots that i can't put into words and can barely convey thru these. that is almost as addictive as it is repulsive. or vice versa. keep me posted on your artistic endeavours btw
