made out of babies @ club europa, brooklyn 9/30/2007. sounds like an adhoc mix of pj harvey/blonde redhead over some dirty barkmarket/melvins riffs. started out heavy dissonant and noisy, eventually smoothed out to some pretty heavy pounding pieces

nice! so i see!
the description got me at pj harvey and then ending with melvins riffs, going for the album NOW heh heh

hey btw the new pj harvey, what i've heard, not the whole album but some songs, really strange and good!

FrauFeli October 06, 2007, 06:15 PM
Wuha, I think PJ Harvey is grrreat! I really like that album of hers eermmm.. "to bring you my love".

I think she is so cool, because she seems so much herself and not fitting in these typical pop-music-cute-girls-patterns.
Sounds (or reads..) interestung what you wrote, Insky!

very good fraufeli
apart from great pictures and great taste in literature you have good musical ear!
you've fall in a good place heh heh
i think my favorite album is Rid of Me and Is this Desire? i saw her (with perro, insky!) at the Hollywood Paladium, she's sooo great live, i will find 2 remixes a friend of ours made (el perro again insky) of "no girl so sweet" and "the letter" in the meantime for you

Heyy, thanks a lot for fresh music! And for the compliment, I'm blushing :)
The Melvins are not quite my taste, a bit too heavy, but nevermind and go on posting your favourite songs!!
I would love to see P.J. live!! But as I was yesterday on a great concert of Rufus Wainwright I am perfectly fine.

And I still didn't forget that I wanted to post something on your lovely blog..!!

bere October 06, 2007, 07:55 PM

ach!!! wrote paragraphs and then accidentally closed the tab - damn. uploaded these pics before work came home to these nice words and links :) thanks for stopping by you two...
feli, like rufus myself, and have a penchant for softer music as well as loud. usually as long as it has some sort of melody somewhere (that's true of husker du's "i'll never forget you" as well, my vote for the most angstridden powerful violent song of the century so the lines are blurry...).
bere, you rock & thx for the linx - i'll add a few
blonde redhead - they are very addictive. if the following links raise any interest whatsoever, buy both 'misery is a butterfly' and 'melody of certain damaged lemons'. both are near-perfect albums, or at least eminently replayable.
can't resist posting the vid to the title track '23' from the album '23' (which i haven't heard in full btw) just b/c. it's a pretty one - feli i think you may like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7FqUNlEdwA
this one is a bit older and more raucous, but watching them is fun...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2du1wCgFF30

and barkmarket.....is one of the most underrated bands of the 90's. intelligent incisive lyrics that read almost poetic set over a machinated yet intuitive hard-driving and messy soundtrack...
dunno - 'gimmick' is beautiful and 'l ron' will grow on you albumwise
two songs for the music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1j6PjQanS0

and one for the video (love it)

thanks!!

the barkmarket
yumm!!!
you know? the voice reminds me a little of silverchair's kids, thank you insky
and loved the comment on the video: "From Lardroom. If you dont like this band, then you are a commie bastard." and the cockrach from your other picture your tenant acts there heh heh, are you his agent now?

and feli, now you know why i said you've fallen into the right place :) mister insky knows his music and literatures, oh soo soo well!

FrauFeli October 10, 2007, 09:37 PM
Heyyy thank you so much for all this music!! And the long comment!

Sometimes I like loud music (sort of) as well, but I definitly agree- there has to be some hint of a melody left..hehehe. I liked the best the first and the last song. -And the video, of course. Very cool! The doll with the black tape on the eyes reminded me actually a bit on your icon pic, Insky! :)
When I want to freak out (or however you might call that..) I really like stuff like Beastie Boys or Public enemy - You might guess my age now :)))
But for me, it's often like that I only like one album or one song and the rest doesn't interest me. Like for the "blood sugar sex magic" of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Or the Soundtrack of Matrix Part I.

Most of my time I love to hear Jazz and Funk and Dub anyway, but there is great fusion stuff as well!! One of my all time favourites is this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn6yP7EiiK0

Well, quite different to the music above, but it is all just great in its own way..

FrauFeli October 10, 2007, 09:39 PM
Ha, Bere, I just realized that you had the same idea about the doll! Ah, how blind am I..anyway. Funny connection, isn't it?

All the best to New York! Such a pity I haven't been there yet! :D

bere October 13, 2007, 02:19 AM
