spyr an't AF no more?
and your going to end up paying for it. taxes.
its called property damage,
no matter how you want to say its "the culture" or whatever,
its property damage none the less,
if someone randomly came and painted your car and made it look like shit,
how would u feel?
its a paradox incase you didnt notice.
if you stopped writing,
wouldnt this reduce the amount of tax dollars wasted?
the cop is only being hired to look at this site because your writing, without graffiti, the cops job wouldnt exist.
one less thing,
one step closer to progression.
and addressing yourself,
how would they be used correctly, according to you?
is this because you consciously know what your are doing infact is a crime,
or is it because you really dont have an answer.
Fact: Graffiti is a crime, you destroy property
Fiction: You can defend yourself.
and when i said one step closer to progression i was referring to bambu talking about the proper use of tax dollars,
and its funny that you talk down on opinions,
isn't graffiti supposed to be an "expression" of yourself; your opinion.
maybe you could make a movement to getting graffiti legalized if there weren't belligerent, arrogant people such as yourself in the graff culture.
and you dont understand what im saying?
so your incompetent then?
You make interesting points, although I don't think anyone is disputing that graffiti is both property damage and a crime.
How 'bout we all take a break from yelling at each other over the internets, and check out an analysis of graffiti from a legal and economic standpoint?

It's not the final word on the subject, obviously, but the author makes an interesting distinction between public and private property that I think speaks to your comparison between painting on the freeway and painting someone’s car. (Bombing private vehicles is pretty widely regarded as not cool by graff writers.)
peace.
I express myself with fat marker and a can of semi-flat black! until this government and all that fall under it's umbrella are given back to the people from the corporate slime that tells us what we can or can't buy,say or do! sheeple need not apply (youknow).
you know taxes are a funny thing. we pay but not because we seek improvements or progression as a society. its because we have to. now i dont know how much tax dollars are supposedly spent on cleaning graffiti but i assume its no more than than the ammount given to public libraries, or street cleaners and beach combers. its a game where no one is supposed to win. we dont let people smoke cigarettes anywhere any more but we do allow the prick with the hummer to drive around the island as often as he wants.
*light bulb*
i want my tax dollars to be spent on making high pollutant emissing vehicles off the streets.
sounds dumb huh... well so does paying a cop to sit at a computer and refresh www.23hq.com/dubside every five minutes.
i understand the difference between the private and public damage, however it still holds to the same principle.
Although the car maybe owned by a single person, and the public freeways are paid by through society, damage is still being placed upon property that isn't entirely ours, if not ours at all. (kids who don't work for instance, dont pay taxes)
and i understand that some people like to express themselves through graffiti, but if expressing yourself involves additional tax dollars to be charged, this isn't fair to those who don't appreciate it.
and even if a legal wall or multiple walls were made, can you honestly say you would lose that drive to go out on the free way in the middle of the night and gain true street fame?
taxes to, taxes are charged for many reasons, both public and through corruption in the government. however, does this mean that we should disregard graffiti cause "hey we're paying taxes anyway, who cares." its true taxes do suck, why add to them?
by all means, i love graffiti, im in the game to,
but i sparked this to show how many kids can't really back up their claims on why they do graffiti and the legitimacy of it. dub, bambu, and w/e atleast have their standpoints on it and have the smarts to stand their ground.
But just for perspective, let's do a little math. Scott Ishikawa, state Department of Transportation spokesperson, has said the state spends $50,000 a year removing graffiti from the freeways. Other people have estimated the total cost of graffiti removal on Oahu at a cool million per year. Sounds like a lot, until you divide it by Honolulu C&C's 900,000 residents. That's about 6 cents per person for freeway graff, and $1.11 per person for graffiti as a whole.
If you want to object to graffiti on aesthetic grounds, fine. One person's art is another person's eyesore, and I'm not trying to change anyone's tastes. But don't get too worked up about graffiti's hit on your wallet.
and no by no way did i intend to start this revelation for writers,
i was just sparking conversation as i said,
to show that alot of peoples reasonings for graffiti is bullshit,
and to show the few, as yourself,
who can actually back their shit.
i guess you could say it was for shits and giggles.
because you do graffiti.
and you dont really care about the 6 cents or 1.11 or w/e the cost is,
but the kids are having their fun, or getting their fame, or getting their satisfaction of expressing themselves through the expense of the majority of society that doesnt like graffiti.
its probably to the least of your worries because again, its coming from the biased opinion of someone who enjoys graffiti.
and once more, in all seriousness, i do like graffiti, and if you read my intentions of why i started this, you probably wouldnt have to ask me all of these questions.
but i sparked this to show how many kids can't really back up their claims on why they do graffiti and the legitimacy of it. " I question you because this is exactly what I was looking for.hoax, phony, fraud. I'm not wasting anymore time for someone who posted they LOVE then LIKE graffiti. it's quite quizzical. next thing you know you are going to post graffiti is OKAY. for you to question anybody NOW holds no validity at all.I've wasted enough time on you and this subject. your posts get more and more ignorant and less genuine. also, the only legitimacy about graffiti is that it's art. and everybody is a critic!
your funny!
and by not putting restrictions, there will be an endless amount of problems arising.
thats just like saying murders still happen, why bother in making it illegal,
we can just catch them when it happens, but cant prosecute them because they didnt brake the law.
werd.
again, look at it from outside perspective,
for people who dont like it, and still have to pay.
fucked up to be forced to pay for things you dont need or want?
the moral point.
about someone paying for something that could of been avoided and it was something that they didnt want.
you might not be outraged about a low price,
but its still unfair.
i understand it is just a dollar,
but in someone elses eyes, someone that doesn't like graffiti, its a bother.
and you can't deny that there are people who need that money.
and there are 900,000 people on oahu right,
multiplied by 1.11, thats alot of money,
money that could be used on something useful.
and something beneficial to society.
point proven.
thanks.
to you know
those 14 year old kids a forced to pay taxes everytime they buy something. if they buy gum they get taxed.
daaaammm... this is some deep shit.
i understand everone's point of view and how they feel because that's their opinion.
What wabbit and youknow be talkin bout, that's correct. that's truth wrapped super tight in a bottle, now being spilled out.
It sucks paying taxes, period. buying anything, you get taxed out yo ass. i don't pay yet but when i do it's gonna suck.
We all know that the govn't is corrupt no doubt about that. we know there are corrupt cops out there and regular cops, who just does his job because, that's what he do.
If you ever watched STYLE WARS, there's this one part where one of the guys says that there are killers in the streets, muggers muggin people, and killers throw'n people on to the tracks of the train yards and shit.
Graff writers, are we killers? no. do we go up to random people and start lickin' them and steal from um. no. unless jackin paint from some dummy.
why do they got to stretch the truth about how graffiti is so bad? Graffiti is a bad word choice to use. It should be changed, but i don't know what.
what little big man said about making ditches legal, that'll be good because no one has to see it but us. It's only used to flow shitty water to the clean ocean. WTF.
that's all for now.
thats when you know you did some damage
not some quick throw up shit cuz thats what usually brings out the ugly side of graph unless
