I feel the same about the sign.
I've seen it dozens of times and am just as surprised and disappointed now as I was the first time that it isn't a root beer sign. ha

Yeah, that sign. It sits atop an old building and reigns over the parking lot of a strip mall. Old building there, too, but lots of remodeling and new stores in it. I think this sign's position suggests a reminder that he's still the sheriff in town!
are they illuminated at night?
llllllll--no, they aren't illuminated at night. At least not anymore. That would be a nice sight though!
My sister just called and told me this building was razed yesterday.
To make way for the expansion of a grocery store that is already a mega-plex. :(
