BBA is The Bread Bakers Apprentice, a book by Peter Reinhart - one of the Bread Baking Bibles. There is an event where food bloggers bake a certain recipe from BBA, and when I saw the ciabatta in one of these, I had to try it, but mine doesn't look halfway as good as, e.g. hers:

it looks as good quite easily..if not better. I like the smooth quality of yours more

nellyb: thanks, but I *was* aiming for larger holes / bubbles ;) - it tastes fine, which is what counts after all, and it is very light and airy, so no complaints on my end :-)

Both look very good to me! But I know what you mean - the best ciabatta seem to have a seemingly impossible combination of toughness and softness which is hard to describe, never mind produce!
