@striatic, Paul Verlaine was a French symbolist poet. I remember seeing a movie called Total Eclipse dealing with his relationship with Arthur Rimbaud, another French poet (Leonardo di Caprio) but actually, the movie wasn't about poetry at all. So even if you've seen it, you may have missed that aspect ;)

My doctoral performance projects were on musical settings of Verlaine's poems! Colloque Sentimentale is one of the best - I remember that Claude used that with one of her photos in a post for Blogginginparis...

it's an old Jewish tradition to leave a stone on a tomb when you visit. love seeing this.
