you'd made me curious! i have not tried the german kind, oh and i haven't tried pancakes with vanilla ice-cream, now i want to have breakfast again! heh heh

125 ml milk
4 eggs
150g plain white flour
little bit carbonated water (app 3-4 tbsp)
2 tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
2-3 tbsp butter for baking
Just make sure that you have no lumbs in the dough and let it sit for 10 min or so. You can leave the carbonated water(just from the pipe will be already as well) out if you want, but it makes the pancakes crispier. The pan needs to be quite hot when pouring the dough in. Per pancake you might need as much dough as fits in a dipper. They will look a bit odd and have kind of frills, but that's normal. You can serve them with sugar and strawberry jam or with caster sugar. Or cinnamon and sugar or any other kind of jam...You even can put cheese in them when you put no sugar in the dough.
I hope, this helps a bit and is not too confusing! :) I like them a lot, but maybe it's different when you didn't grow up with them,hehe.
