my friend jeff was nice enough to come with me to the festivities, as part of my German 101 class (die Deutschstunde) i get an extra point for going there, drinking Bier (i had Warsteiner pilsner und eine warsteiner Oktoberfest) and eating Bratwurst, so i went... they had Leberkäse but i already had a Bratwurst by the time i saw it!! was really sad, 'cause i really like it. My friend and I didn't blend in very well with the crowd... i would say 80% of the guests were German! and just another 20% of American (tall and white too) so, a mexican and a Chinese-american really looked like a bean and a rice among many Bratwurst and potatoes... and i got my extra point!

sorry for you, that you've missed the Leberkäse...
Next time... :)
hehehe
making fun of our "beloved" governator as we call him in California...
yeah we know very well he's austrian, my German professor is from Augsburg so she makes sure to tell us the more subtle difference between south and norther German languages as well as the big differences between swiss and Österreich Deutsch heh heh
i am happy to say i am a Democrat (against Bush and his mafia), so of course i did NOT vote for Arnold!! no way, he's a Republican and Austrian, but i must confess that with bad accent and all, and for a Republican he has done some nice things for the state of California... i just wish he would read the book he's holding ;)
and yes! i am waiting still for the Leberkäse
i already had one Bratwurst and 3 apfelstrudel when i saw the vendor... but guess what i am going to eat a lot in Dezember? ;)
Where will you be in December to eat Leberkäse? In Juhrmanie? ;-)
