Most probably a Cardinal Meadowhawk.

Looks like some white on the thorax, if not then maybe a
Red-veined Meadowhawk, but Cardinal Meadowhawks are
more common.

Nice set of pictures, you beat me to the punch!

Thanks for the ID. I was house-sitting in the forested hills for 10 days and the smaller wild life was a great photo op.
There was a larger blue one that danced around me every day but just would not land for a photo.
