Charming European landscapes and cool Denver cityscapes will be shown together at the Evelyne Boren and Robert Spooner highly anticipated exhibition. The pieces compliment and contrast one another with Spooners’ aggressive vertical brush strokes and Boren’s colorful and dynamic landscapes.
Spooner uses directing lines and patterns to highlight the textures of his shadows. From still lifes to cityscapes, Spooner has a dramatic affect on all his subject matter. His romantic color palette of Lavender and Lilacs has shades of violet and canary yellow to soften anyone’s taste and the nude portrait of Laelia leads us into a sheltering jungle of vibrant greens.
Boren’s subject matter confirms her international taste for plein air painting. Inviting roads lead us down paths that vanish into beautiful, colorful countryside’s in Europe, New Mexico and Guatemala. Its hard not to feel content when viewing any of her pieces full of light and serenity.
Contrasting their work, Boren uses thick layers while Spooner uses complex layering; however both use striking colors. Come, observe and enjoy the mood-altering exhibition of paintings by Evelyne Boren and Robert Spooner.
