This is a monochrome version of this image as suggested by Jotty. I used a channel mixer with 40% red and 60% green channels.

aaahm, I prefer the coloured version. Now I definitely cannot see the gnomes' garden (the moss) and I miss that bright green and soft brown... :D

Sorry Gergana - but it's all Jotty's fault....!!!

Oh, I know that - it's one of Klaudia's favourite sentences! :-)

Normally I think that pictures that live from it's structure are better in monochrome. But I agree, it's too much structure here and the colours helped in keeping orientation. Ok, it was a bad idea...

I'm sure Klaudia has never said any such thing...!!

It wasn't a bad idea, Jotty, it was an idea worth exploring, even if on this occasion it didn't work out as well we might have hoped!

These are the more friendly comments I have to face ;-) We make a joke from telling us who's fault it is that the sun refuses to shine, the money is gone in the middle of the month or some socks moved to the parallel universe....

But Klaudia's favourite is: When God created men, she was just trying.

StevieB January 14, 2009, 03:51 PM
Oh, that parallel universe has got some of your socks, too!! :)

But I remind Coleen that the sequel is never as good as the original, and that applies to God, too!

Who is Coleen? I think it was Nietzsche saying, that God is an illusion. But God replied, that Nietzsche is an illusion! ;-)

Coleen is my wife!

I know you don't like vignettes, Stevie! But I think it would work on this photo. And a little lighten the shadows. BUT it don't bring back the gnomes' garden! :-)))
Jotty23 January 14, 2009, 08:01 PM
@Volker: Vignettes means "(Zier)rahmen" in german?
Volker January 15, 2009, 01:32 PM
Ehm... Good question, Jotty. I thought it means "Vignetten" in german.
