Probaply amongst the very oldest chapels in the whole area, but historic evidence is very sketchy. Fact is that the style of foundation and finds in the ground suggest already pre-romanesque roots, but there are only first mentions of the hamlet coming with a smal church from the 13th century. 1746 an extensive baroque renovation took place, Constance Bishop Fugger rededicated it in person and this was the first propper date that can be proven in bills and letters. Recently whitewashed amongst spring flowers, and with this oldfashioned turret it spontanely reminds me of Franco Zeffirelli's Saint Francis movie. / Vieleicht eine der aeltesten Kapellen im Bodenseegebiet. Layont und Bodenfunde machen preromanische Wurzeln wahrscheinlich, aber die este vage Erwaehnung das zum Weiler ein Kirchlein im Feld gehoere ist aus dem 13ten Jahrhundert. 1746 wurde das ganze im Stil des Barock grundsaniert und brandneu ausgestattet. Franz Karl Joseph von Fugger-Gloett, Titularbischof von Konstanz , war bei der Einweihung vor Ort und diese Begebenheiten sind das aelteste das sich durch Rechnungen und Briefverkehr nachweisen laesst. Frish getuencht mit diesem sehr altmodischen schlichten Glockenstuhlund den Wildblumen in der Brache davor erinnert mich das an Franco Zeffirelli's Franziskus Film.
