There is such a beam after each station, this must have been a lot of work. But then in the 18th century a lot of saecular building of the less poor rural populace had colourful and ornate timberwork as well, not exactly the barn and the pigsty, but the houses they lived in, the shops and administrative buildings had all to have inricately saw-latice or even carved wooden ornaments, any visible beam ends had to be hewn into nice shapes and any uncarved window panes or extended areas of plastered walls had to have a painting, usually it was religious content mixed with purely ornamental. And the furniture was this way to. The timbermen and painters where well trained in this styles.
