Yes, it's a little touching when you see it up close, I must admit. We usually don't care so much about this tiny world that we don't have much access to when using only our bare eyes. But that's what makes macro photography so great, it's literally giving you insight into a new dimension :)

I'm speechless! Very good work! Never seen a fly with such a big sting. Maybe it's better she's dead. ;-)

Thanks :) I haven't ever seen such a big sting on a fly either. Then again, it's almost impossible to notice since we don't have macro eyes. Keep in mind that this fly was about 3 mm small. I went for the closest possible focus distance here to achieve maximum magnification.

Stunning image!

Guys, this is not a fly, but a tiny wasp. I think, it belongs to the cuckoo wasps (Chrysididae (Hymenoptera). I hope, Ivo will come around to identify it more precise.
