What is the Fringe Club's Excavation and what is a Memory Capsule?In the heart of Central there is a memory capsule called the Fringe Club, containing over 100 years of Hong the bright lights of Lan Kwai Fong, beneath the traffic of Wyndham Street lay secrets waiting to be discovered... 中環的中心地帶竟然有一個埋藏了香港百年歷史的回憶錦囊。它一直躲藏在五交通繁忙的雲咸街下面，直到…… Last year The Excavation Project uncovered objects, people and tales from Hong Kong’s diverse past. It involved the community excavation searching for both the missing ice vault from the old Dairy Farm and collective Hong Kong. The archaeological excavation examined the physical evidence of the past, community uncovered memories and stories relating to Hong Kong. 去年，藝穗會得到滙豐銀行慈善基金的資助，展開了挖掘的工程：尋找我們的事、香港的歷史。我們希望找到舊牛奶公司的冰窖以及有關香港過去被遺忘了還有莘莘學子及公眾，他們幫助我們挖掘這座建築物以及香港的集體回憶。  So what was lying beneath…?
Acoustic testing identified areas in the basement which may require further archaeological inspection… 那麼，我們腳下埋藏了什麼？ Our engineers excavated test areas in search of the missing ice vault… Digging for Hong Kong history at home; A series of workshops engaged the community in their own excavation 與此同時，我們嘗試「挖掘家中的香港歷史」，舉辦一系列的學生工作坊，鼓勵他們挖掘自己的過去。 There was an exhibition entitled Memory Capsules showing the work by the community during the project and a drama production.

Memory Capsule, City Festival 2006 公眾對它的興趣使這計劃得以在乙城節2006內延續，去年我們尋找到的回憶現在全放在錦囊 內，留待下一個百年！ 面對著曾曾曾孫，我們應該如何向他們細說香港的文物古蹟？回憶錦囊裡面可以放什麼？ 我們誠邀你來決定！ 由1月12日至2月28日，登入www.excavation-hkfringeclub.com，提供任何相片、錄 像、音樂、故事予回憶錦囊，你更可以投票選舉香港十大有歷史紀念價值的物件、建築或故 事！ Continuing community interest has prompted the City Festival 2006 to continue The Excavation. Memories and stories uncovered last year by the Fringe Club and the community will be preserved to create a Memory Capsule to be unveiled by the Fringe Club for their building's 200th birthday celebrations in 2090. What should we tell our great-great grandchildren about the heritage of Hong Kong? What should be contained in the Memory Capsule which would help us do this and them to understand? Come along and contribute, look at everyone else's contributions, debate the choices, discuss the stories and invite your friends to do the same. The debates and discussions about Hong Kong’s culture and heritage will become part of the Memory Capsule. The Fringe Club will take all the material generated in this website, especially the memories, stories and debates and place copies of it in their memory capsule along with all the material collected during the Excavation Project. In addition, during the City Festival 2006, they are accepting physical contributions to the Capsule at their box office. Contribute to something that will become the future heritage of Hong Kong.
