One lasting memory of Hong Kong for me will surely be the daily bus travel.
People spend long hours on buses, and rarely is this a great time. But as there
is no way around public transport for the majority of people in Hong Kong,
everyone tries to make the best of it. In fact, most people fall asleep, even
if the bus is so full somebody else has put their shopping bags on one's lap.
Or even if the infamous 'RoadShow' is blasting senseless advertisements for
slimming salons or mobile phone ringtones directly in one's eyes and ears. Even when the aircon is so cold the shivering wakes one up during the trip...
Most of the time, people are peaceful. But through years of bus-travelling, one
gets to know certain kinds of people that should be avoided if possible:
