A few days ago, i thought i'll give panorama stitching another go. I just didn't do it for a while, cuz i didn't want do buy and use a tripod and all the complicated stuff you usually need. So good thing i found a explanation how to do it with a Philopod, after a few attempts to work out the best way to do a 360° x 180° Panorama, i gave it a shot. Thought i wanted to create a QTVR, which i did, but i can't upload it here, so i used a slightly different projection =)
(by the way, i didn't do any retouch at the nadir, so you are still able to see my philopod (about 5 bucks at a do-it-yourself store), just barely in this resolution and would be easy to stamp out anyways.) It was quite a hassle to collect the shots, true story: it rained all day, which isn't so surprising, so I just could do one series of stichable pix before I got soaked. So after a disapointing look on the pictures (still worth it, cuz i could figure the best way to do the 360° x 180°) and a hot shower it stopped raining and the sky started to clear in a patchwork sort of way. The light started to look really promising. So I'm off again to take some better shots at the town hall -all in a hurry not to miss the light, it got kinda late-, just to notice there, that my memory card is still in my computer at home. Thought there is a photo shop not to far, so I still could make it....if there wouldn't be the thing with good light conditions and opening hours. So three closed stores later figured the one in the station might be still open, getting there it seems like the store doesn't exist anymore! So halfway defeated I went into a drug store to get a beverage and partly to check if there is a memory card available, I remember, that drug stores usually had some basic photo stuff in ancient times. So in the and I was lucky and could buy the worst, but cheap 2GB memory card which I never would have considered buying (if it were not for the circumstances). I barely made it and could take my picture, not with the best light of the day tho. Bloody amateur. |

I like it :)
i really do appreciate all the comments. It gives me the feeling, that i really did something right this time, and with all the hassle, i think the picture deserves it. it's just a pity, that i can't find a way to show you the QTVR-file....so if anybody knows a way (i prefer not too geeky)...
