The main effect of a pol filter should be the removal of reflections on the water or windows. You probably want to try to orient the filter orthogonal to the ground.

exactly, the main effect. but in this case i just wanted the side effect, vivid colors. thought it worked =)
(removing the reflections would have worked, but what a boring picture it would be?!)

i forgot. to remove reflections from water and windows a 20° angle is supposed to work the best. perpendicular is not working so well.
