The Wreck of the Mary Ann. visible at low tide on Kilchoman Sands, Machir Bay, Isle of Islay.
She was out of Grennock and loaded with wines and spirits when wrecked in heavy gales 22nd May 1859.

Interesting there is still so much left of the ship.
That should have caused a number of way to merry fish and a less than amused trader.... I hope the poor sailors all made it to shore unharmed.

Thank you Sonja, the majority were apparently rescued but details are rather had to find,

The ship has preserved well because it is buried most of the time however on a visit last year recent gales had uncovered more than is usual,

Seems that being outside the sands is not really doing any good to the old wood.... The second shot is particulary lovely showing so much more the shape of a ship with deck building and everything.
