Hi, Girls!
Sure I'll join. But I've to say that I still have all of my wisdom teeth. Or do you mean, we celebrate when ALL our teeth are gone? ;-)
Euzkerika Orozco February 06, 2008, 05:17 PM

LOL I imagine we're all sit under a tree, wear those giant Mexican hats and eat ice-cream. I think this could be great. :-)))
Btw I've got the acceptance for my vacation in September. So we can start to plan. :-)
Euzkerika Orozco February 07, 2008, 09:56 AM
hhhmmm ..big hats??? I think you've see to many american movies my dear...

"El Sombrero Charro" is the one that usually movies represent with small puffs all around (the real one doesn't has them)

The real hat is used in the Center of Mexico, Jalisco, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí.. for the Charrería which is the national sport, they are very expensive because of all the work that represents to make them, the same with the suits, boots, belts... """BUT""" it is not a regular thing that everybody wear... if you want to see the real thing, you have to go to LOS ALTOS DE JALISCO so you can see that actually there are some places where people use this clothes and hats for the work at the fields.

Here the real hats:

and here the suits:

(I only found it in spanish, sorry.. but I think the images will give you an idea of what it is)

FrauFeli February 07, 2008, 04:44 PM
This is such a lovely ice-cream thread..and I didn't do much on it :) I love your ideas, and I would love to come to mexico some time anyway, because I am so interested in ancient mexican sites and art! (So, Euz, your mum could show me around ;) ) And of course it would be a great idea to relax in the shade with a huuuuge ice-cream, hehehe.

And, Dearest Bere, I hope you survived your dentist savely! I fear any kind of dental problems, though I have all my wisdom teeth, but there are other tortures which are just as good..! *wuuuuhhaa* So, get well soon and be sure that I send over a lot of positive thoughts!! :******)

Volker February 07, 2008, 09:45 PM
Hey Euz, you're a sombrero-specialist!!! Thanks for the links! Very interesting! Hehe... I don't have seen to much American movies, but I read a comic called 'Lucky Luke' when I was a child. ;-)
bere February 08, 2008, 05:47 AM
hola dear friends, i am here, 2 teeth less and a cheek like a chipmunk! sooo BIG, but i survived, thanks to the Full anesthesia i think... i was too coward for just local...
but little fairies Euz y Feli, you will survive too! :) and dear Euz yes take care of those wisdom teeth as soon as possible the longer you let it go the worse it gets.. Gerganita knows about 3 less huh?

and dear Feli good luck with the dentist too! i still have some other "minor" fixtures so i will with you in spirit there :)

and herr Volker, keep ALL your teeth and now that you are an expert in sombreros hope you can come to Mexico were we can all indeed ice-cream with or without it... but do keep the teeth if possible!

a big hug and guess what? for dinner Strawberry Sherbet, one of the luxuries of Oral surgery, i got it in a place very close from my house where they make... *read carefully* Home-made ice-cream
ohhh how i wish you all guys could come to San Diego and have some with me, here a couple of reviews of the place
