Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Arch
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NYC, NY.
Full spectrum color, high definition + HDR photo merger…

✎ Designed by John H. Duncan & constructed between 1889-1892; underwent restorations in 1980 and again in 2000. Inside the arch and on facing walls are equestrian relief sculptures of Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant -- the latter is pictured here. William Rudolf O'Donovan (1844-1920) sculpted both men and Thomas Eakins (1844-1916) did the two horses. The Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument received landmark designation in 1973; in 1975, all of Grand Army Plaza became a New York City historic landmark.

Nice historistic artwork!
But what an unusual idea not to comission each sculpture by one artist but split the work up this way... it certainly has advantages for a similar style to have it done this way but I never came across a story about an other artwork with rider sculptures done this way.
