It's leaves are just as pretty as the blossom, still decorative when there is no stalk in bloom!

Sonja.... The colorful leaves belong to a diff't plant. The orchid itself has the usual green foliage -- can be seen better in the companion photos.

Oh well, still nice blossoms....
but as there are wild orchids with showy leafs, there would be nothing wrong with breeding also into that direction -- might keep people from disposing of their poor livingroom orchid before it resumes bloom if it had more ornate leafs.
