:-) Looks like a kind kind of a dog.

Hi Fenja. Although Banjo was bred as a farm dog, a mixture of sheep dog and cattle dog, he is, indeed, extremely kind. A few weeks ago, he was barking at the door to get out and I went out with him. We found a very large raven hopping around and flapping his wings. He started to go after the bird, as he is the protector of the property and family. I raised my voice just a little. "Don't hurt the bird, Banjo." He just sat down and got completely cool. The bird did not leave, recognizing that Banjo was no longer threatening, and started hopping down the stairs towards us, while visions of having a bird-friend danced excitedly in my head. He sat just a couple of stairs away, as and I was asking him if he wanted to hang out a while, the cat came out of nowhere and tried to pounce on the bird. The cat is not kind! Because the bird was the same size as the cat, it was a kind of Mexican Stand-off, until the bird retreated into the dense overgrowth under the redwood trees. I don't know the end of this story, but after Banjo corners any raccoons that have made the mistake of wondering into his territory, he lets them go instead of fighting with them. He enforces peace between the cats although he is friends with both of them. He looks the people right in the eye, has never chewed anything except his own toys, and never leaves the property without his symbolic neckerchief around hie neck. To know him is to love him... kind of like you... Thanks for your comment.
