So.... The surfer looks like a skydiver.... And my first thought was, "y'know, surfboards aren't very effective parachutes as will be evidenced by this guy's watery faceplant" ;)

You've clearly never gone skydiving & had the experience of a shoot opening too close to or in your face.... It does indeed sting ;) Especially if you're coming out of a 170mph+ free fall and you encounter the 'schute from another skydiver come shooting up at your face ;)

it is stange, that the water seems so quiet and calm...with this salto mortale ! ;-)

You're right about that, Martina! How very curious! The waves were double overhead too. The wave was so strong that it shot him up like a rocket! He went about ten feet in the air before he started his descent. I think he did it on purpose, as it was so spectacular. It doesn't look like
it was too well planned though!!
