If you've never known a dog like Banjo it might be difficult to understand just how nice he really is. A mixture of Border Collie and Australian Cattle dog, called a Mc Nab, he is by far the smartest of all the 65 years worth of dogs I have lived with. He does lots of tricks, keeps the racoons away, understands everything we say, jumps right into the bathtub when asked, takes hand signals for all commands, and although free to roam the property, does not go down the stairs to the street unless he is wearing the symbol of permission, his red bandanna. He is nice to the cats, and is, in general, everybody's favorite dog. When spoken to , he looks you right in the eye, knowing that it will help him understand. He has never chewed anything of ours, and only chews his own toys. He pee-pees on command, loves little kids, and instinctively knows just what to do to win everyone's heart. Instead of calling this picture Banjo, I started to called it Noble is as Noble Does. Banjo is patient and gentle, and noble in the greatest sense.
