The wire seems to have wreaked havoc when it broke off. I declare this video camera dead, or at least beyond my knowledge to repair :/

Hi Corax, it should work even without the capacitor. Have you tried to connect the wire somewhere to the ground? (black wire)

Yes I have, thank you for the hint anyway. I'm afraid the ICs have been fried, there's not the slightest signal coming out of it (the receiver, I don't have an oscilloscope)

hmm... that sounds not good. Perhaps the loose wire has made a short-circuit. :-(

My thoughts exactly. Too bad I have no idea what else I could try to verify or dismiss this theory. Looks like the time has come to buy a new one :(
