The tonal range is somewhat limited. Both the highlights and shadows are gray instead of white respectively black. Is that as intended for this picture? IMHO it makes the picture a bit flat.

U-Bahn / subway station Baumwall - looks like baumwall. This must be the Gruner & Jahr building in the back. Nice view over the harbour from here.

Yes, it is Baumwall with Gruner & jahr in the background. From there we have really a great view over Germany finest habour. :)

Okay, I see. The original one does not have much of highlights either as it is taken probably late in the afternoon or early evening. I do not think by the way it is very bad.
